Ellada Evangelou is a Dramaturge, Cultural Analyst and NGO worker. She holds a PhD in Cultural Analysis / Theatre Studies from Cyprus University of Technology, an MFA degree in Dramaturgy from State University of New York [SUNY] at Stony Brook, NY (USA) and a BA degree in English from the University of Cyprus. She has co-founded Rooftop Theatre Group with Costas Constantinides in 2003, and she is resident Dramaturge and the running President of the Board. Her theatre practice follows the philosophy of “theatre for social change” and the multi-cultural character of communities. She has collaborated with theatres, NGOs and educational organizations in Cyprus and abroad, and has extensive experience in teaching, directing and organisation of seminars and workshops. Recently she has collaborated with UNDP-ACT on the Mahallae platform, MITOS Performing Arts Center (Performance Curator) and the Build Peace Conference 2015 (Arts Curation), and is on the board of the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research.
